Sources of water and the water cycle

Water is essential to life:

The water is very important in our daily lives. It is used for drinking, bathing, cooking and washing clothes. Apart from these, is used for agriculture, industry and the construction of buildings. It also plays an important role in the generation of electricity.

Natural sources of water:

Natural sources of water are Lakes, lagoons, rivers and oceans. The rain is the main source and is in its purest form. For drinking well water is better than the water tank. As rain passes through different layers of soil, dissolve the salt in the soil it. Therefore the well water is salty or sweet.

The water cycle:

When the wet clothes stretches in the heat of the Sun, the water content evaporates into the atmosphere. In the same way the water in rivers, lakes and wells evaporates into the atmosphere due to the heat of the Sun. Then his journey the vapours through the atmosphere gets cooled and condensed into small droplets of water. These droplets bind to form clouds. When cools the air around the clouds, heavy droplets fall to Earth in the form of rain. This new rain flows in rivers, wells and tanks.

Thus, in nature, water evaporates and forms clouds. These clouds bring rain. This transformation is called a "water cycle". This is an ongoing process in nature.

Sea water is salty:

In some areas where passes through the layers of the soil, large amounts of salts are dissolved in water. So it becomes salty. This water is called salt water or salt water. The dissolved salts and minerals passed at sea via the rivers. For this reason, the seawater is islets and unfit for consumption of alcohol.

Usually the Sea contains 3-5% of dissolved salts. In some seas the percentage of sales is more than 20 per cent and the density of water is very high.

Dead Sea:

This sea is close to Palestine. In this sea salt content is as high as 27%. The amount of salt dissolved in water is estimated at around 40 million tonnes. Due to this extreme salinity, any animal can live in this sea. Its density remains afloat swimmers. You can not drown even if we jump into the sea.

Uses of water:

Growth in electricity plantsAgricultureProduction

Components of the water:

It contains oxygen and hydrogen. Each water molecule contains two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.

Properties of water:

State normal water is a liquid. Pure water is colorless, odorless and tasteless. It has the property of dissolving many substances such as salts, minerals and gases in it. It contains some amount of dissolved oxygen, fish and aquatic plants can live in the water.
